DRM has been around for a while now, from the stupid little code wheels of LucasArts games, Dark red paper with dark blue print from Sim City, all the way to long manuals with obscure passcodes hidden on each page. While all of these are anoying, the more current forms of DRM are more troubling, as they not only try to protect software from being used if it wasn’t legally purchased, they go much farther and penelize the legitimate users, with restrictions so draconian, a sort of self propagating revolt has started on the amazon website. Spore, a new game with one of the most restrictive cases of DRM madness ever seen, has over 2000 reviews giving the game 1 star out of 5. Watch this weeks show, and give us your feedback!
